A continuation on yesterday's drama

So ... Kimmo called me today from our main campus.  She's been called up there to be on a search committee to find new directors for like four of our locations.  She's really good, my friend.

So, she calls me to determine where my loyalties lie.  I had to tell her that up til now, they've laid along the path of least resistance, because at the end of the day, the path to MY job includes Drama-the-Psychopath (who is often referred to as "Jack-in-the-Box" for her ability to randomly flip out on people on this LJ) and I have to do what I must so she doesn't eff up my recruitment numbers (because she does.  All she has to do is be a bitch to them when they meet her for orientation, and then they go looking somewhere else.  All of my good hard work down the tubes.).  I do what I have to to get by.

Turns out, today, at the main location, she was talking to the super-director who basically said that Drama-Incarnate calls people all over the main campus and spews crap about her and so Kimmo's good name (and hard work) gets tarnished because Kimmo refuses to do the same.  WHAT KIND OF PLACE OF BUSINESS ALLOWS THIS HORSESHIT?!

What she ended up telling me is that the super-director is going to be calling everyone to determine what is true and what isn't.  Kimmo said she hated to ask me, but wanted to know where I stand.  So, I had to go through the entire ordeal of explaining when I took things to our director, it always ended up A, getting back to Drama, who made my life hell, and B, somehow MY fault.  There is no safety net for complaint with our director because he gossips like an old woman -- hence my policy of keeping my head down and my mouth shut, because that's what gets me my paycheck and that's what gets me through the day.

HOWEVER, if asked a direct question or given an open forum for which I might be able to be honest and not be penalized for telling the truth, I would do so, because at the end of the day, I will be judged for how I lived my life, and this CRAP ASS job that makes me miserable isn't worth keeping the peace, if need be.  It's not worth it.  I did tell her the gist of mine and Batshit's conversation behind closed doors (I know, I said I wouldn't, but I didn't tell her everything), and I think it made her feel better.

So  ... yesterday's stress with worrying about Kimmo cutting me off was for nothing, but it killed me to hear her cry today.  How fair is it that she's been the subject of main campus gossip about not being able to handle the job (which isn't true) and she finds this out from our boss' boss?  It's not worth it.  She gave up an AWESOME job offer at the community college to stay here because she was promised that things were going to change ... and they haven't and they won't.  My poor friend.  =(

So, in three days, Batshit's been here a total of maybe ten hours, and she's managed to tell everyone on campus slanderous lies, ruin the peaceful atmosphere we have here, make me feel like Public Enemy #1 because I had to choose between what I thought was the lesser of two evils (weevils) in letting her shut my door and talk shit about my friend.  Well, that ain't gonna happen no more because closed doors don't make friends.

Anyone know any good voodoo or something to help resolve the Batshit Drama problem I have? (j/k but not really)

ETA:  also, I think the boss is going to gnaw my ass a bit tomorrow.  I had a foreshadowing conversation with him today.

*sigh* Some people are just not happy unless they are actively making someone else miserable. Far too often, these people end up managing or supervising other people. It's one of the reasons that I've preferred self-employment for so many years. I'm sorry you have to put up with this shit. :(

Ooooooh, self employment would be AWESOME. Some day. Maybe.

It's gotten a little better, but I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. She can only hold in the crazy for so long.
